It is (usually) -32768..32767 for signed shorts.

Do you mean wrap-around problem?
It depends on how much control you have on the input. For instance, if you can read the input string, then a length > 2 is an error condition.

Can't you simply use unsigned values ?

You are going to have to add an event handler for OnChange so that you check the input on edit.

Hello All,
I need to intercept everytime user use delete,shift-delete or use DEL command from command promt, I need to know what API get called when we use DELETE, SHIFT+DELETE and DEL command, I'll be very much obliged if anyone can redirect me to how to intercept-Hook those calls..
Looking forward to see members reply, and i'm using VC 6.0 and WIN DDK 7.1.
Thanks all

What exactly are you working on that needs to intercept the function calls and that needs the DDK and are using VC 6.0? But, this is simple to implement if you know where to look.
There are quite a few articles on how to intercept/hook a function call, especially a windows one.

I need to intercept if anyone delete the file and verify if it's authorized user to perform the action..

What are other way to perform this apart of making driver?

Hi All,
I create one sample win32 console application, which that application working for timer basis.
Example :
If the user gives the stared work is 1:00 AM and End Work is 3:30 AM and the current time is 1:30 AM then application will be in active till 3:30 AM. It automatically goes to idle state, if the system time crosses the end time that have been configured. The application will start again with in the timeframe on next day and so on.
how to achieve this application using threading
please share your valuable thoughts
Thanks n advance

Cannot you just use a timer (see"Using Timers"[^]) for the purpose?

I will give you only some leads and not spoon feed you. What you have to do is something like this.
HANDLE hEvent;
long FunctionThread(void*)
{
while(true)
{
WaitForSingleObject(hEvent, NULL);
}
return 0;
}
long TimerCheckThread(void*)
{
while(true)
{
if(timeout)
{
SetEvent(hEvent);
}
}
return 0;
}
void Setup()
{
hEvent = CreateEvent(NULL, FALSE, FALSE, NULL);
}
Event is something that allows synchronization of threads. WaitForSingleObject(...) function waits until the event is set and won't consume valuable CPU cycles. So, that job is going to start only after the time out has occurred.
Read more about the terms that you encounter here and after you understand, you can easily build on this example.

Nah, we don't encourage URGENT repressive policies.
On the serious side, really I don't know. Why do you want to turn off it programmatically (just curiosity)?

What do you mean ? You believe that by having bluetooth turned on, people will be able to steal your code ? Which code anyway ?

hi..Mr.Moonen
I just really need to code for this problem
if u cn help me plz do so........................

If you want help, you have to explain your problem more in details. If you didn't get any answers till now, it probably means what you are trying to do is not feasible (besides, not all computers have BT by default). So, what is your problem exactly ? Why do you want to turn BT off ? What were you saying with your code ?
And please, don't use text speak, it makes your post much more difficult to read.
