Did you google the error ? Are you sure the file is there and is a valid XSLT ?

How can I access the ViewState.Item Property?
Currently if I type ViewState I cannot access a Property named Item. Can someone please shed some light on this?

Page.ViewState returns instance of StateBag . If you look at the StateBag classes meta data(right click and goto definition), you can see there is no Item property exist. You can use the indexer provided to work with viewstate. Something like,
ViewState["key"] = "somevalue";
object someValue = ViewState["key"]; I am not sure why Item property is shown in the MSDN documentation for StateBag . See here[^]. But it is not in the meta data.

I have a small website. I only need a simple site search engine in my site. Codeproject.com has posted 4 demo projects. I am a beginner of using .NET. Which one is the simplest and easiest to use?

This is subjective question as such the answer is speculative.
What I would do is, study all four articles then compare their strength and weakness, see which one you feel more comfortable and can do the job done at hand.

hello,
what should i do in order to build an independent .NET application which runs on the server?
for example, an application which checks pop3 email every now and then and responds to arrived mails ?
tnx

Well, if it's independant, then it's not an ASP.NEt question, right ? You do it with code, not sure what else to say. A windows service is a good choice for an app that runs all the time like this.

If you want the application to run all the time (in the background) with not user interaction then use Windows Services
If you want the user to have interaction with application, then you need to build Windows Applications (Winform, WPF , etc)

It is always good to do a search with the error message before you post here. See this[^] thread for a discussion on this topic.

Any idea what I am missing out?
iFace.aspx.cs
using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Linq;
using System.Web;
using System.Web.UI;
using System.Web.UI.WebControls;
public partial class _Default : System.Web.UI.Page
{
private IfaceIt firstInterface;
private String showMe;
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Label1.Text = firstInterface.Show();
}
}
App_Code/IfaceIt.cs
using System;
namespace hub.interfaces {
public interface IfaceIt
{
String Show();
}
}
Both are within the same project. It does not seem to make sense to make a reference to source code within the same project does it?

You better add a CssClass to the asp:Menu
in your css-file you create that class and there you state: width: 100%;
In Word you can only store 2 bytes. That is why I use Writer.
