WPF LinearGradientBrush Parameters Demystified

I always thought I am stupid because I could never remember how to setup the LinearGradientBrush parameters properly. Until I spent a day writing a WPF application which allows me to see how the parameter settings look and I finally figured it is those parameters which are difficult to make sense of.
