Ebooks are nice for searching, but personally my eyes get very tired after looking at an ebook for 30 minutes. Paper books are much more pleasant on the eyes if you're going to be reading it for a decent length of time.

This is the biggest reason why I never rarely use a book anymore. The second reason is that technology changes so often that a lot of books are already out of date when you get your hands on them..

Yes, but publishing forces them to review the content, and label for a specific version. On the web this can be a gray area..

I'll agree for fiction (my kids reckon I could open my own library from my collection) but when it comes to coding and general research online hits the spot.
There's just one problem with electronic media and that's you can't read it in the bath

Course you can, just don't drop it when you doze off 
I use an iPaq as a reader and would not go back now that Baen have an elibrary/shop, only the occaisonal battery issue and turning it off during take off and landings detract form the experience.

When I really need to get my head wrapped around a new area of expertise I go for a book.
