Agreed. My "willing suspension of disbelief" wasn't overstretched, and the acting was pretty good. I've liked Jim Cavziel since I saw him in The Count of Monte Cristo.

Old war stories:
Early versions of the 8085 microprocessor (late 1970's to early 80's) had an undocumented opcode that folks called HCF: Halt and Catch Fire. The processor would stop executing code and would begin outputting an incrementing value on the address bus at the processor clock speed. IIRC you had to remove power from the chip to stop it. I don't think interrupts or the reset line were effective at that point.
Interestingly, PDP-11 assembly language had a more-or-less documented version. I don't remember the mnemonic, but the essence of the instruction was to get the word at the program counter, auto-decrement the program counter, write the word to the address in the program counter, and jump there. The end result was a single instruction that would copy itself to the previous word in memory and jump there.

Other than the X-Files, I've never heard of any of these. Does The Big Bang Theory count in this survey? Based on the descriptions of some of the shows that are listed, it seems it should be included.

For me it is the best. Haven't seen silicon valley yet or westworld, but to me it's hard to get any nerdier than that. It's so relatable that even things we (characters and I) love and have are very similar.
I did fare better than them with girls, but I see it is an amazing parody of my own life on many aspects that it would be hard not to put this on top of my list.

I do not watch anything "IT Oriented" - I don't count the TV I'm using now as a huge monitor as IT Oriented TV.
(Certainly not as I perceive them).

I've watched 1 episode of Silicon Valley but haven't even heard of most of the others.
The IT Crowd, on the other hand, I've watched over and over and over....
