I always drank instant, then switched to brewed for a few years and then went back to instant...I started having these heavy duty vertigo attacks...switching back to instant and cutting way down on coffee in general helped a lot. Now I just have a cup of instant in the morning and one after supper.

I drink about 6 to 8 cups of coffee per day, dark roast preferred.
A few months back, I cup out the 1 teaspoon of sugar, and then the few drops of creamer.
So... coffee.. black... all day... every day.
If at home, I will drink water (we are on a well) or fruit juice (if available).
If out and coffee is not available, then iced tea (sweet or not... just prefer my tea cold).
But... since starting work in the mid-80's, coffee has been and will continue to be my beverage of choice.

Similar I do; >6 coffees. But then at Weekend I neutralizing them with some beers. No I don't like to specify that amount

It's not like I WON'T drink coffee, but I can live for the rest of my life without having another sip of it.
On the other hand, I'd like a cup of tea in the morning and one in the evening flavoured with ginger and lemon grass.
The survey results are quite shocking as I used to think that a lot of people here drank a lot of coffee regularly.
And I doubt that people in general are going to be necessarily aware of the precise amounts of caffeine they're ingesting with each cup of coffee.

Yeah but survey results don't really say too much about coffee specifically... more like about caffeine in general. It's probably that people think most caffeinated drinks are unhealthy nowadays.

I think that the results do say a lot about coffee consumption specifically.
Just look at the comments, and see how many people are talking about coffee, even though the survey talks about caffeine consumption in specific.

Caffeine is a drug. It's a stimulant no different the cocaine or heroine. Most people are also addicted to it, and like most addicts they think they aren't and can quit any time. Yet they never do, and always feel better when they get their fix. The only difference is one is socially acceptable because its effects aren't quite as bad as the harder drugs.

I drink my espressos with very little sugar, in part because it ruins the flavor of the coffee and in part to avoid the terrible aftercrash the sugars give!

At first I calculated for brewed coffee, but then I realized my brewed coffee is almost as strong as an expresso ...  .
In any case, if I skip my coffee in the morning it is severe head aches in the afternoon
