I used to think that phones were only to place calls and be done. Now that the enterprise has given us Windows Phone 7.5 Nokias, gotta say my life has changed. I will never in the foreseeable future use any phone without Windows Phone.

Windows Phone is the only OS well suited for my clumsy fingers. With iOS or Android I keep missing the icons 
I like the iPhone hardware, though. If I could install Windows OS there I might switch. Until then, it is Nokia Lumia for me.

Good point. After using my WP7 for 2 years now, I struggle whenever I have to use an iPhone.

UI design is a matter of fashion like anything else.
Just because Apple are trend setters doesnt mean they should own the trends they start.
And the patents they use to bully the market with, should never have been granted in the first place.
'Pinch to zoom' is logical considering the abilities of the interface.
'Snap back' when sliding past the last screen is hardly an engineering wonder.
Admittedly i am an Android fanboi, but even so, the more Apple fights, the less i like them.
I did once consider buying an iPhone, but it's out of the question now, and will remain so until they stop their anti-competitive practises.

Apple recently patented a method for disabling its phone (camera and comms) based on the their geographic locations. This means the government can do it when it wants to stifle civilian reporting of specific events.

The US patent office needs to be used for target practice, by the artillery.
There are apps around that has done that for years.

If the government wants to stifle civilian reporting of certain events they're gonna kill all cellular traffic at its source not single out a specific handset manufacturer.
If you're afraid of Apple and the iPhone because it somehow threatens your ability to make a living selling Microsoft's stuff just say so.

When I buy something I like to feel that it's mine.
With Apple products this is hardly true.
I don't want to engage on a firefight here about this, I'm just stating what I feel.
Apple environment is too close, too proprietary for me.
Seems like many people like it... many don't... it's life.
Another fact that is keeping me away from Apple stuff is the feature/price ratio.
Apple harware is always over priced if you look at the harware specs.
So no Apple gadgets on my side.

Got the cheapest blackberry in the shop, has real keys instead of a touchscreen that doesn't work in the rain and a keyboard layout that lets you write properly.
