To get the best out of it I need to make my desktop touch supportive and I don't want to do it NOW. And many souls are already shouting not to install it, unless you are ready to format/burn your hard disk and particularly if you are using XP. So lets wait untill the evil bogies are handled. You don't need to format the HD. You can use Partition Wizard[^] to shrink your main partition and create a new one just to install W8.
