System.IO.StreamReader does not contain a definition for ReadWord and no extension method ;ReadWord accepting a first argument of type System.IO.StreamReader could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)

And what are you actually trying to accomplish? The StreamReader object doesn't have a method "ReadWord"... System.IO.StreamReader

Do you want to read a "word" meaning a certain number of bytes, or do you want to read a "word" meaning some group of characters separated from other characters by white-space characters ?

Because it does not contain. You can use BinaryReader[^] for reading values, but as word is no CLR datatype, you can use ReadUInt16[^] for example.
