My question would be if it is whether better to choose to make my website wordpress or Codeigniter. Do both give the necessary security so as to free the user from worrying about it? Or one of them is more secure than the other and needs extra implementation from the side of the programmer?

This is a vague and meaningless question. Security in what aspect ? If someone hacks your server, they will have access to your data, whatever the platform. Most people who ask vague questions like this, over estimate the value of their data to hackers. Certainly word press has plenty of plug ins if they are needed to avoid vunerability to brute force attacks, etc.

For me it is not a matter of over estimating my data: rather, to protect it since probably there may be holes "somewhere" (in the framework) and I don't think that always the first motive to make attacks is just because of the data's worth but perhaps to tease people around.
In fact, I was unsure if any of them both implemented some countermeasures to that matter or was up to the programmer to implement a way to achieve security. Nothing less, nothing more.

Like I said, the internet is a ton of data. The odds of yours being a special target, when you're using a free framework to present it, are low. But, all sites get hacked constantly.
