In Win 10 Pro 20H2 (OS Build 19042.685) OS, When file is printed to virtual printer driver from Photos App, then Print Job is started Windows and Spooler (.SPL) generating file's in "C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS" directory. File is printed to virtual printer driver.

After updating windows update. I.e. Windows 10 21H1(19043.1288) or Windows 11 21H2(22000.194). When file is printed to virtual printer driver from Photos App, then Print Job is not started and Windows Spooler not generated (.SPL) in "C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS"

Windows Spooler services are not printing job file to print processor and print processor's "OpenPrintProcessor" function is not invoking.

Please let us know why .SPL files are not generated and Print Processor Functions are not invoked in latest OS.

What I have tried:

We have executed below workaround, still issue is exists.
1) Windows Photos App repaired.
2) Windows Photos App uninstalled using Power shell command then downloaded from Microsoft store.
3) Spooler services restarted.

This forum is for programming questions. You should report your problem to Microsoft.

1 solution

This is not a development question - or if it is it's lacking any sign of development content - and this is a dev site.

Please try a Windows support site, such as Microsoft Support[^]
They will be able to help you much better than we can.
