Retrive password from SQL non sa user

I have an user account which runs an application. but the application owner forgot the password. we cannot change the password as the application will fail. how to retrieve the password without resetting the password for a non sa account

What I have tried:

nothing much really because the password is encrypted in SQL server syslogins
