Dear all,

I have been assigned to handle unicode in crrystal reports in VS 2008 with version of Crystal Reports 10.5.0.0.
I have to handle 'Bengali language' in the reports. The headers will be in the Unicode format(Bengali) but the data retrieved from database can remain in English.

The generic format of the page will be of Unicode except the data.

I have found Arial Unicode MS Bold. But can it handle bengali in crystal reports 10.5.0.0.??

It's an official task. Please respond with compliance.

Thnx in advance.

Bengali writing system is popular enough, so it's supported by nearly all modern systems by default. I never installed any products or resources related to any Indian writing system, but I can always read and type Bengali (sorry, without any understanding of the language itself :-)).

To check up what fonts support what subset of Unicode, you can use the application which is bundled with all versions of Windows, CharMap.exe, "Character Map". One font which supports a really big subset (of course, including Bengali, of course) is "Arial Unicode MS". Sorry, generally Arial fonts got bad reputation in designers, but this is what Windows suggests by default.

Next time, please test font compatibility by yourself. I have no idea what prevented you from doing it by yourself. If you are not sure how Unicode works, learn it immediately; it is very important. If you have some follow-up questions, you are welcome to ask them.

Will CharMap.exe will allow crystal reports to show the report headers in bengali? how can this be integrated?

Where did I tell you such thing? Please read again. There is nothing to "integrate". Just use Unicode and font.
