I have a page that inserts a record into a SQL database. when on the development server and the development database this worked fine. I then moved everythingto production and now it inserts 2 identical records into the database. I even tried pointing my dev code at the prod database and everything works fine. when I point the prod code at the dev database it inserts 2 records. the 2 sets of code are identical. Has anyone seen this before and if so do you have any possible solutions

It seems that I am part of the minority for checking "embedded".
Still, I never considered looking for another, "cp" like community
specialized in embedded.
I seem to belong here. wierd ?

I also work with embedded code for micro controllers. These can be much more fun as you need to understand exactly how all the hardware works and you have control of everything.
Not like in Windows, where something else out there can come along and pull the rug out from under your feet.
CP is for all developers. Large, small or embedded!

Well, I do feel at home here. Besides, I actually spend
a lot of time writing desktop applications, on top of
embedded, and that is Windoze application, of course.

I do the UI's for the controller software in our line of ink jet printing systems[^]. It ends up being an odd combination of desktop application, kiosk/turnkey control panel, and embedded application. Some customers want the s/w to behave as just another desktop app, some want it dumbed-down to as simple a turnkey app as we can get to. To top it all off, someone (e.g. a Marketing bozo) a while back got the touch screen bug, and all of our controllers have to be drivable from a touch screen as well. It keeps me busy and off the street, anyway  .

Most of the embedded 'software' communities are just hardware forums in drag. The embedded software forums I've seen (Microchip PIC, for example) seemed to cater mostly to hardware guys trying to write software. There seems to be a lot of guys out there building microcontroller-based hardware that think 'it can't be that hard to write the software to run this thing'  .

Seriously, the "Bamaco" nickname or "handle" comes from a friend of mine,
back in highschool days, who figured that my last name, "Mally", sounded
a lot like a small country in africa, "Malie". The capital of that country
is "Bamaco", hence my nickname - handle - CP login name.
Ahhh. the hardware "bozos" who think they can write software. They try
hard then pass the project back to the real software guru (such as me).
I could go on forever commenting on that, most of the time, comments would
be unfavorable to the "hardware hackers"...

Embedded Systems are kinda coool .. My team is currently working with Verifone Terminals, mostly the 3750s.
Personally I've just done a few modules, but nothing I would consider major like what my boss has done
I wrote a nice utility to help convert bitmaps to VFT and LGO formats that could be used on the terminals themselves though. the VeriFont tool that comes with the Verifone package is pretty buggy so I re-did it. That was a nice experience

Hmmm... I didn't know what to really check here, since I actually program embedded systems (large airbourne cameras), but as they are really large, we have an ordinary Windows box to control them. So I actually code desktop apps for embedded systems  .

You can select as many boxes as you like.
They are combo boxes, not radio buttons, hence you can slect as many as you mant (including all) - something I would have thought even the greenest developer would know!?!?!

I was hoping you could help me out, being the non-green developer you are. I can't figure out how to get those combo boxes to drop down. I've tried everything I can think of and all I can get it to do is display a stupid little check next to the text.
Any ideas?

I do a lot of code library work, too. I agree, there needs to be another option for that. Most of what goes into code libraries is generic enough to fit into desktop, web, and any other platform option, but at the same time, giving it a label of one (or more) of these, just doesn't seem right.
