I have myPrincipal.IsInRole("DOMAINNAME\\Project Dispatcher")
it always returns false and I know I'm in that group cause I added it using RDC
How to get it to work
Its a windows 2000 advanced server does it need to be rebooted to reset the groups. It hasnt been reset since I created and managed the groups.
even Administrator doesnt work which I have been part of since day one

Ok so I did IsInRole(WindowsBuiltInRole.Administrator and it works. whats the deal

Do you do this in your windows service that you asked about it? If you do it there,mayne you set that it runs as LocalSystem,or something else.

nah this is in a test console application
I get the WindowsIdentity and Prinicpal just fine but the IsInRole from domain is foobar'd

Well,I'm not sure,but in MSDN it say you have to pass group name,not domain+domain. Maybe thats the problem.

Ok so it works kinda
But 2 groups I added myself to are not showing up. Does the Doman controller have to be rebooted after adding a user to the group, or is there a way to reforce AD to do a refresh

It does not shown where? As much as I remember it doesn't need rebooted for only adding user and groups.At least when you refresh Users or groups in User and Group Domain controler it should be shown there.

Ok well it works mysteriously now.
The group i added myself to 7 days ago is showing up
the group idded 25 hours go is not nor is the one 2 hours ago
I spoke to an admin friend of mine and he said to create ou and add them to OU's

.resx in simple word is file that stores data that you put in your form.For example you put label in your form and set a text for it.This string is store in resx files.

I use BitBlt for scrolling a large bitmap (3200x2600)px but problem is
because HBITMAP takes too much memory.
After loading of images:
bmp = new Bitmap("c:\\Bitmaps\\3200x2600Gif.gif");
takes about 8Mb and after executing following line:
handleBitmap = bmp.GetHbitmap();
my application increase used memory for about 30Mb
How can I avoid this?
Note: When I open the same image in WebMatrix for example( because it is
written in c#) results are excellent: image takes about 8Mb and scrolling
works nice

I dont know. I red WebMatrix is enairely written in C#. If that what's the best way to work with scrolling of large bitmaps

hi all,
i have a class stored several data objects such as string, integer, double... for data exchange in 2 threads.
i wonder any method to lock these data members of a class.
i mean, for a member function i can use mutex , lock for exclusive access. but, for a data object, how can i lock it?
i have 10 data members in the class but i don't want to create 10 member functions for accessing them.
or, is it essential to do this?

You can use the Monitor.Enter/Exit and there is a Lock method but I cant remember what class it belongs to

How am i going to Run nd execute a C# code.what are the pre requsits for the C # like java requires J2sdk1.4.after writing code in Java there is a compiler
and then a interpretor for executing the Java Code how am i goin to do with C # .i have to work on Image Processing in C #.Is there any specfic API for C# from where i can get Information about Image Processing in C#.Please Give some Valuable about the same

you can download the .NET Framework SDK Version 1.1 here[^]. It contains lot of samples to get you started on c#.
You can get the vs.net IDE or just use the command line compilers.
For image processing you can use inbuilt classes or use Direct X 9 wrappers.
You can get them here[^]. I would also suggest you to have a look at CG's articles here at CP.

I create a windows service that just writes to the app log every 4 seconds
I create a setup project, Add the program output and
also right clicked installer top include it
When I install it says the sevrice is installed and when I run setup again it asks to remove. My question is how come I cant see the service in my services fokder.

Have you checked the installation directory (C:\Programs\...)?
Maybe the setup has not copied the .exe file.

Did you check the event log for any error messages also do you have privileges for running the service.
