"despite X" is probably the more common way of saying it "even for all of X" works too.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, but it works if you pick it apart. 
I'm making a mental note of it to not use it here now, because we have a lot of people who speak English as a second language here, and I try to be mindful of that, but my writing style doesn't really lend itself to being easily accessible to everyone.

I understand what you're saying. I'm descriptivist though, and at the end of the day part of that means I feel it's my job to convey what I mean to my audience, and if they didn't understand it, then *I* can do better.
