Haven't seen it since Vista days, but I just remember it as a convenient way into assorted settings. Nothing you couldn't get at in some more convoluted way.

There's nothing in Windows "God" mode that you can't do via the control panel. In some cases you have to dig, but it's all there.

If all the electorate voted with blank slips, I assume the 100% of the vote would be discarded as "spoiled votes". This begs the question what would happen if only one person in a voting district cast a valid vote? Would the candidate be elected on the strength of the single vote?

I wish we had a None of the Above on all ballots. If None of the Above gets the majority then the position is left empty, or if it's not required by a constitution, is eliminated.

Today arrived a 5 key keypad to play w/. Yippee! Programmed it for [Undo] [Redo] [Cut] [Copy] [Paste] A pleasure to utilize! Alas no back lights though set up for it via setup software. Can anyone direct me to a backlit 5 Key keypad in row form as rectangular form would obstruct mouse. Thank You Kindly

I started my computing life as a mainframe operator on one of the Leo Computers Society. Leo 3 photos[^] (first four pictures, second row). I learned programming in machine code and had to key in the instructions one by one on the mainframe's front panel. That was an invaluable lesson in the internals of computers, some of which I can still remember. I also learned to program on the ICT 1004 which used a removable plugboard as the program. Again an invaluable lesson in logic. It seems that many new developers these days are missing that essential knowledge and start by writing (or copying) code without much understanding of what goes on underneath.

I was fortunate that in junior high school I had access to an 1802 board. Also switches to enter instructions, very limited I/O (two LED characters). But totally fascinating to play with. Later in had a TRS-80 computer, and quickly went from Basic to Assembler.
In the 80s I worked for a company manufacturing EGA/VGA chips, and we had special access to some MS pre-release software so we could develop drivers. One day we got this big box of disks for a very early pre-release of Windows 3.0, and it came with Petzold's book. It was my first introduction to him and developing for Windows....
