A large vocabulary is necessary in literature. I read a couple of novels whose writer is severely limited and it's horrible, jarring, mind numbing and generally a terrible experience.

That's true, but you'd never, or rarely, use some of those words in speaking language.
There is a Dutch word for today's word, but no one ever uses it (unless in jest!).
I guess it's an older word that is no longer relevant.
Of course you'd read such words in older books or books that are set in such time periods.

My mail proviiiider’s (Ya-elphantin’-hoo!) spam filter fails to identify these as spam. Annoying but WTE.
My reason for posting is… What drives a spamster to churn out, for six months, emails looking like they were written by a twelve-year-old? Certainly not in order to add a flavor of authenticity.

My wife just called me 10 minutes ago and she opened her laptop and got a message telling her that her computer has an email telling and she has a Trojan virus. It claims that it is from "Microsoft" , and gave a number to call to fix it.
She does not do email. She is a Luddite. She goes to local talk radio. Not anything else.
