Probably just a standard message for closed articles for a period of time until they are blown into oblivion...

Probably, but Nelek seems to come up with links to reportable articles. So, at times, I am unclear of the actual article status.

This is seen often and appears to be a bug for which a complaint has been registered. But so far, crickets.

Yeah... as Greg has said... it is a bug.
I have reported it a couple of times, but either the hamster have better and more important things to do or they forgot about it.
People with the Protector badge can look in the revisions history despite being in "non reachable" status... then get the last version of the list (mostly is the only one) and that link can be reported again.
