Giovanni Paisiello - Piano Concerto no. 1 in C[^]
A true classic this week!
Last week I found a CD with all Paisiello's piano concerto's in my parents music collection.
I had never heard of him and neither had my parents
Thought I'd give it a listen and I fell in love instantly.
Apparently, Paisiello's operas were very popular in his time and they even inspired Mozart and Puccini.
We all know those last two, but very few know about Paisiello anymore.
His first piano concerto sounds more baroque than classical and it reminds me more of Rondò Veneziano (who wouldn't be around for another 164 years after Paisiello's death in 1816) than actual baroque composers
Maybe this post will make this forgotten composer a little less forgotten

Yeah but you're an old fart steeped in desktop programming who wants to write everything himself instead of grabbing something from nuget to puzzle together a solution.

I've seen coworkers put together what ought to be very simple web sites, and the NuGet mess they end up with consists of 80,000+ files. You're suggesting this is something we should all strive for?

I was out to dinner so I haven't had much time (my excuse and I'm sticking to it).
I was working off antipodeans being "diametrically opposed" rather than a group of islands or a group of modern artists.
I want to say academy, but I can't get the link. So I'm guessing I'm way off again.
