So I posted a question about getting garbage on my serial port on my Arduino after uploading my JSON library to it. I mentioned that it worked on my 64-bit desktop but wasn't working on my 8-bit mega.
And then a moderator basically told me that's not true, and if I was able to write code that would do that I wouldn't be on the forum asking for help in the first place.
When I confronted him about accusing me of lying he denied it.
These forums are rude. This isn't the first time I've seen a sour exchange on there, but it's the first time one was directed at me. My 2nd question.
If you're volunteering your time to be a moderator and you don't like doing it, you should stop. If you're volunteering your time to be a moderator because you like berating people who ask questions of the forum there's something deeper going on.

To be fair, "The Arduino forums" means nothing to me and I wondered the same thing, if this was one of the many forums here on CP.
CP has the Lounge, obviously, the Quick Answers section and then many different forums on the left hand side. Although I don't recall seeing an Arduino forum here on CP but that doesn't mean much.

Asshats live everywhere - ignore 'em and just move on.
If the visitor count falls away to nothing because the moderators are rude the site will wise up and sack 'em, or it'll close.
Either way, you'll probably end up with a better one rising from the ashes.
I'm pretty surprised that hasn't happened to SO yet ...

What's funny, is I've actually gotten really good results from SO. I've only ever had one question downvoted, and about 75% of the responses were helpful and courteous. I understand they have a bad rep, and it's probably earned, but I guess I've been fortunate.

That one is uber rude. I have posted to 15 or 20 different SOs but the electronics one is filled with Geniuses who can only tell you how stupid your question is.
One time I posted a question about why it was that electrolytic type caps seem to have a high voltage ability even though they are small (in capacitance). I received no answer but many attacks and they finally completely deleted my question so that I couldn't even find it again.
Sheesh.
My point here is that Hardware Geniuses are much more mean-spirited than us Software Geniuses.
We are a softer gentler kind, I suppose. 
If you are a h/w genius no need to be upset with this, just be kind and prove me wrong.

That's a brutal move. First try to run it on a STM32 chip then on a PIC24 and eventually goto 8 bit.

I don't have a STM32 chip but I have an ESP32 I ran it on first.

I have a ton of little IoT SoCs but none with a 16-bit CPU. I wonder if such an animal exists?
It would be fun to compile this for a little 65c816 though (the 16-bit CPU in the Apple IIgs and the Super Nintendo)

ah, because of the 24 I assumed maybe a 16 bit but with a 24-bit address bus? I'd rather do pure 16 if that's the case. 24 bit buses are just weird.

24 bit... 16 millions of colours.
The PIC24 is a genuine 16 bit MCU, the name comes from the length of its instruction word.

You could have answered him:
Only because I am better programmer than you will ever imagine in your more obscure and wet dreams, it doesn't mean that I know everything about the Arduino world. There is a difference between not being familiar with the Arduino and not being able to program crazy things that work.
