Never say never: I might be the odd man out but I've been doing that for a number of years now. After getting tired of MS changing their UI tools I decided to stick with a browser and HTML. My apps include a tiny server, leave all the formatting issues to to browser and use JSON for communication between the two.
With a few tricks, I manage to pack everything in one exe file and tell my customers to do installation in DOS fashion: you copy the file somewhere an run it. Do you remember those days?

Oh! Apologies my bad then. If your query was related to Windows App, no have not used HTML5 in windows app. I see WPF (XAML) being set as standard for any windows app in our organisation. Myself too is more comfortable with WPF app and don't even think of HTML5 in the mix.

(I turned to XAML because of it's WPF relationship and the fact that animating in FLASH was rumored to be childish and bad-habit-forming ,,, HTML5 seems to be some side-effect of secure HTTP web page development and who cares about such things as they neither can nor ever will be able to have effect there on.)

HTML5 is fantastic and amazing and solves deployment issues.
HTML5 is also a way around the iPhone app store (via PWA Progressive Web Apps).
A PWA has a feature (ServiceWorker) which allows the entire SPA (Single Page App) to be stored in a local file cache. That means everything works offline so even if the user loses connectivity or whatever.
I recently did this to escape the App Store. Now my app is fully functional on iPhones/iPads but all you have to do is go to my web site to see it: C'YaPass : Never type a password again[^]
The PWA also includes a functionality that allows the user to "Save to desktop" which will save the icon to the user's device so that the user can start it like any other app -- instead of having to go to a specific web page -- even though it is just the browser running the app.
In other worlds, I have used ElectronJS Electron | Build cross-platform desktop apps with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.[^] ElectronJS (based upon HTML5) to create one code base that allows my app to be deployed to Win, Mac, & Linux. It works great.
Yes, I was a WinForms dev (C++ then C#) since Win3.1 but I'm embrace the new tech because deployment is really the worst challenge. If you don't believe that, it is because you have not had to build installation packages on the various Windows OSes. It was terrible all along the way then the challenges of Win Vista and ProgramData ProgramFiles AppData and all that. Phew...

"Windows OS" deployment is better these days. When you build a (UWP) app package, you indicate the devices you want: x86, x64, ARM, xbox. You get a package that contains all, and the Store deploys what the customer supports. There is also a certification step that will highlight any issues; which is usually a "branding" image that is too big.

That's great to hear. I did try some of the UWP app building and deployment to MS app store and the packages do seem quite a bit better. It just felt that I didn't get much for it since there are no MS phones and I couldn't deploy elsewhere.
Good to hear they're settling out the deployment challenges though.

Hololense is / was x86 with Windows 10, multiple cameras, speakers, Bluetooth, One Drive, etc. I don't know why MS doesn't / can't just build an x86 phone.

Also, (I mention this a lot) in 2002 I was running a PocketPC (from Dell) that I could use to edit MS-Word documents on and read ebooks. I loved that thing. I used it for 10 years and it worked great (no updates were fine). Anyways, at that same time another dev I was working with bought a phone that ran PocketPC 2002 and he used it every day.
Apple didn't release their smart phone until 2007. MS was 5 years ahead and gave up!!

IMO HTML5 is great, it makes life easier. XAML is clunky and illogical by comparison to HTML. I only use it because I have to support legacy projects. XAML is one of those technologies where Microsoft seemed to pointlessly re-invent the wheel, but as a square.

WPF is good, but he forgets to mention the most important point: HTML5 = platform independent. Plus rollout to live environments is so much easier. The only platform that is not 100% ready for HTML5 is mobile, but WPF is not mobile either.

I did not really get into the story line for this movie, but the backdrops, location and scenery were spot on, IMHO.

I agree with your point that backdrops, location and scenery are fine, but the big problem is the story (or better lack of a story) that makes the characters feel hollow. What a waste of fine actors !
Well, maybe I just have to take some drinks first before watching this kind of stuff ...
