Microsoft's Chromium-based Edge was first released in January to Windows consumers and enterprises, and now Linux users will finally get a taste of Microsoft's new browser. I'm sure they'll all jump on that opportunity

They might, just to find issues / errors / flaws / inconsitencies / ... to be able to say Quote: "see...? M$ continues building crap, even when they copy from google. Let's go back to our hyperterminal browser"

I'm sure the 0.1% of Linux web devs whose management requires explicit testing of new features on Edge (as opposed to the rest of us who're just "![Elephant | [mastadon]](https://codeproject.global.ssl.fastly.net/script/Forums/Images/elephant.gif) it, it's HTML5 so it's 99.9% likely to work; good enough unless a major bug report comes in") in addition to actually used browsers will be excited they don't need to fire up a W10 VM anymore.

Porting Swift to Windows is not about simply porting the compiler, but rather ensuring that the full ecosystem is available on the platform. If it's good enough for iOS, it must be good enough for Windows
