I especially like the graphs plotting "average method length" vs. "average defect density": they also show a terrible defect density for a function length of 0.

I think it is the duty of the programmer to write code no one else can understand, maintain, or modify, to ensure the code supports him/her for the rest of their lives ... as long as the customer keeps paying.

Let's just put it this way: This year has made it very clear that there are a whhooollle buuuunnnchhh of ignorant people running around who lack the sense to say no to such a product.
