M83 - Oblivion (Feat. Susanne Sundfør) (Extended Mix)[^]
Another soundtrack today, although I didn't know it was.
Two weeks ago I had the Top Gun soundtrack, today it's from Oblivion, both movies with Tom Cruise, which is pure coincidence.
I saw Oblivion last year, great movie, but I somehow missed this soundtrack.
Luckily, YouTube recommended it to me, maybe because I listened to M83 in the past, or maybe because I've been listening to Tom Cruise soundtracks (in which case it's not a coincidence after all).
Anyway, this song starts out as epic soundtrack which could be mistaken for Hans Zimmer and around halfway Susanne Sundfør starts singing and things get even better.
At the end of the song it's just so beautiful and epic you just can't turn it off.
When it's over there's just one thing on my mind, I want an extended extended mix!

I'm surprised you haven't heard of him. You know what an absolute sh*t-show things are over here in the states right now? (If not, check out the last video I shared on my FB wall - every disgusting humorous item in it is based on fact.  ) Alex is one of the main sh*t-stirrers. He has spouted every form of nonsense imaginable, and has destroyed countless lives. His assets should be sold by court order and all proceeds and his other assets should be given to those his lies have hurt.
The least damaging sh*t he spouted was lizard-people conspiracies. Among the worst was the pizzagate crap, where he said there was an underage sex-slave trade going on in the basement of a restaurant, run by Democratic politicians. He spouted it so vampantly that many idiots believed it, and one guy even took an automatic to the place to 'save' the kids. Lo-and-behold: it didn't even have a basement! The probable worst was the Sandy Hook conspiracy, where he said the government staged the school shooting and all those 'killed' were actors. Rather than apologize when parents of those killed complained, he doubled-down and his cadre of idiots continued to make those parent's lives miserable. Actually, it sounds like they lived through triple hell, with death threats made to them for having 'faked' it.
Truly disgusting. That song is a word-for-word transcription of his rant, as you can see by the lip-movements. I was truly surprised at how well whoever created that video pulled it off.
I forgot to mention that he has the direct line to our President, who is a great admirer of his.

I lately hear a lot of instrumental epic when I work. They are really prolific and very, very present in this kind of music. I never heard of them before, but I recognized some of their tracks though.

This makes me realize I need to explore M83 more. I was introduced to "Midnight City" by playing Beat Saber, and it became a favorite. The only other song I can recall listening to is "We Own the Sky."

Lately I have been messing with Java. Why? Because it's there! There are several IDEs for Java. I have been wondering which is the best one to use for Java Swing? Currently I am using Eclipse and it seems adequate, although it is NOT Visual Studio. Any ideas?

I always used Eclipse in my last job as it had a good debugger. Sun had an IDE on their Unix workstations, but I did not use it as much. Have tried a few of the ones that Google finds but still prefer eclipse.

I use Eclipse when I use Java. I've heard IntelliJ is more VS-esque but it has issues with how it determines classpath sometimes. I haven't tried it personally. For Eclipse, I think the last time I did Swing stuff I used the WindowBuilder plugin which is nice.
Stay away from NetBeans unless you enjoy your IDE locking up for multiple seconds even on small projects when you, for example, edit the name of a commonly used class. It has really good default plugins but nothing you can't setup in Eclipse, and as mentioned it has bad lag issues in my experience (and one of the worst code-completion tools I've ever seen).

The team I'm on is split between Eclipse and IntelliJ. I prefer Eclipse because we have several similar code repositories and Eclipse will search all of them while I haven't found a way to do that in IntelliJ
I've dabbled with Visual Studio Code and was able to figure out how to have just our main repositories show up in the workspace(or whatever they call it) to be able to search but I'm still more at home with Eclipse.

From my experience debugging issues with teammate's solutions, IntelliJ is sometimes "too smart for its own good." I like Eclipse's minimalist approach since it won't brick a solution on a repo pull. The downside being you need to fully understand how Java handles dependencies.
