Presumably you're calling test.numbers.TestInt() in a static (class) context rather than an object context. Either make TestInt() and GetInt() both static, or call them as methods of an object of type test.numbers.

AFAIK, with Forms, you can pop them up by either using .Show or .ShowDialog.
While ShowDialog makes the form modal (i.e. until you close it, you can't get back to the parent form), I think .Show is modeless (i.e. you can click on the parent form and use that while the child form is still open).
[Note: I might have the "modal" and "modeless" terms backward :-]
However, I think that when you open a form, the new form gets focus anyway.

Hmm... not that I know of,
but you could intercept the onFocus event... ?
I got to try and see if it is possible,
but that's what I'd look at:
when the form gets focus, let the parent form (or whatever else)
get focus.

Thank you in advance. Some windows forms like IME windows or MS intelliSense pop-up windows, they do not take the input focus, that kind of windows form is what I want for.

Iam using EventLog Trace Listener. My question is how can I set the
trace level in the event log for example if the trace level is Error
the message displayed in the event log should have red cross icon with it.

Hi, I'm writing a user control that is basicly a collapsable panel. I would like the client to be able to insert the control into their form, and expand and collapse the control. The control expands/collapses when you click on the top part of it when you run the application, but when you click on it in the .NET form editor, it just selects it.
How do I make it functional in the form editor, like the tab control, where you can click on tab pages?

I thought it was 2002 and 2003? 
Anyways, yes you can, but you have to be careful. Once you open a project/solution in VS 2003, you can't open it in VS 2002 anymore.

I am using the tab control with the tabs alignment set to "Left".
I would like to know if it possible to show the tab text in a horizontal view instead of a vertical view?

yes the property "Alignment" set it to top/bottom or left/right which would be horizontal and vertical respectively

I need a good book on Visual C#. I'm not a noob at programming (only when it comes to C#) so it would be preferable if the book is geared towards already coders (I've used Java extensively so I assume some of it will sink in relatively easy).
Any recommendations?
I've been thinking about either Programming C# or Inside C#.

Programming C# (3rd Ed) by Jesse Liberty.
Concentrates more on the C# language while providing the basics of the associated .NET stuff. So, for example, if you also wanted i-depth ASP.NET you would find it in Jesse's book on ASP.NET.
But I found that Programming C# got me up to speed rapidly. Only problem is I can't find anyone who's prepared to pay me to do C#, as I haven't got commercial experience!
Also, there is now an MS-Press book out called "C# for Java Developers" or something. But I've not read it.

Actually if you dont even know what a binary number is then its a good book but if you understand programming at all they bite

LOL, they're not that bad! It's just that their target audience are beginners and they don't have any advance stuff, but I thought their books are a good start if you're just starting to program

Well I bought the c# for advanced programmers thinking I would learn a lot but they go over basics completely and dont even show neat tricks with list views or ado.net. I got more out of exam cram books and my old vb.net book by Dan Foxx. I have thier Java book also and ironically that one was really good and went in depth into topics that were somewhat complicated.
They are great books for teachers and trainers though because they dont explain hardly anything and assemble real world examples rather than just diving down into the dirt. That reminds me the other thing I hate about them. Try to find one little example and you have to dig through 5 function just to get it.
My beef has been said.
But I did like the section on MIT in thier book. They should stick to Java though, thats where they excel.(is that spelled right?)

Like I said, they're good for beginners ( don't believe it when their cover says advanced ) , but I wouldn't use one now.

Well, everyone in CP recommends Inside C#. Personally I haven't tried the book yet ,but that Tom Archer bloke seems smart enough

Hi! I suggest you try ebook versions of both books.
I actually have ebook versions of Inside C# 1st edition
and Programming C# 2nd Edition. Although I haven't
read them all, Programming C# provides a clear explanation.
But I didnt buy any of these books coz its expensive here.
