I saw an ad for a webdesign company but I have my doubts about the url. The name was "web one", nothing wrong with that. The url is webone.be or am I the only one who finds it funny  Probably am. It's friday...
the funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it

s-and-d-acres.farm
It makes the interpretation clear.

It is far more common to run into an email address field that does not accept anything other than the old stand-bys: .com, .org, .gov, .mil and so forth.

I don't understand the name either. It seems to be a kids clothing company. It was just one of a list of "funny domain names" mentioned on an episode of QI.

I need a little humor after my latest dealing with a webdesign company. The Sr. partner decided our company website needed a new look...something 'modern'. 
Until then, all website maintenance/design was my responsibility...but I'm apparently no designer, so the partner knew of a guy who had just started a webdesign/marketing outfit. 6 months later, I'm learning how to use WordPress to edit every single hyperlink to relative. I had given him a sub-domain to build it (as he didn't have his own resources). I had expected to be handed a completed finished package for deployment, but apparently I don't know how these things work. Anyway, the plan from the beginning was to build it under a sub-domain, then simply switch the default website on the server when it was ready. This was why I wasted the effort emphasizing that all links should be relative. Yeah, it worked just fine for the demo and I'm sure the guy already got paid. I knew upfront that I would be the one maintaining it. 
This doesn't even begin to deal with the horrible design...huge background images and huge fonts. The main landing page shows a menu, one headline and a short blurb until scrolled. I suppose you could say it's a very minimalistic approach emphasizing the use of bright colors/background images, large fonts, and some weird scrolling effects and banners. But wait there's more...in order to provide consistency, new content must be created using a proprietary WordPress theme builder.

I keep it turned off. Five reasons:
1) I divovered thst eveb if I mistake threee words contiguoslt thr resuly is more or less understandable. With predictive text it would be gibberish with random meaning, especially if instead of a mistyped character there is a different number of characters in the words.
2) Farker sends statistics and keeps a database of words typed in proximity of one another. Privacy much?
3) If I spoke a single language I could work with it. Two languages means a lot of back and forth (because apparently managing a single database with two languages merged together is for dummies) and since I switch seamlessly between Italian and International groups/forums/friends I just hate that.
4) It works perfectly fine for people with limited vocabulary. My English vocabulary may be limited but my Italian one is definitely not, and I always end up fighting against the predictive text rather than exploiting its power.
5) Italian has a lot of verbal tenses, 21 for the record, verbs ending also change (but may not) depending on the number and gender of the subject, and every word is gendered. That makes for a large number of combinations for the same word which make the prediction algorithm give up fairly quickly.
I used T9 and Predictive text for 15 years but I fare much better now that I disabled it. My only common problem on the phone is the spacebar ridiculously narrow, I often hit "n", "b" or "." instead of spacem makingnfor.terriblebspelling that.looksblike.hownmy dad writes texts.
