The result of LB_GETTEXTLEN is :
Quote: The return value is the length of the string, in TCHARs, excluding the terminating null character.
So you need to allocate a buffer at least this length plus 1. The LB_GETTEXT message will fill the buffer with the text of the control, followed by a NULL character (hence the +1 in the previous part).
The EM_SETCUEBANNER message also needs to be sent with SendMessageW. In fact you should use the W suffix on all Win32 calls, as all your text will be Unicode. Unless, of course, you add some text manipulation to make it ASCII.

No, your problem is not clearly specified, and we have no idea where that CreateWindowEx call is going, or how the parent is sending messages to it.

As per your comment if button or any control create with CreateWindowEx function through Hooking-Subclasong , that button never get focus and needs Buttonproc ?

I installed Visual Studio SSDT fro Business Intelligence purpose. For first 2 days it was running fine and suddenly it started giving me an error.

Run the installer again (without uninstalling it ofc).

Good day friends!
I don't know the right words to use cos I have no idea of the name this could be called.
Am trying to write a program in .Net language (VB or C# to be specific) that can I use to control a small car i.e when I click on start, the car should move so on and so forth.
I know this is a broad question so what I want is to know the right keywords to use when searching on google, relevant links and videos if possible.
In a short form, I want to build my own hardware device then control it from my own designed application.

Remote Control may be what you are looking for possibly wireless remote control. I would look at the hardware you are going to use first and worry about the control mechanism after you have decided what hardware you are going to use.
