This isn't spam - that is specifically unsolicited or unpaid advertising, which this does not do.

And while answering old questions can be seen as rep point hunting, we have been asked by the staff to not report such users unless they ignore a polite warning to stick to newer questions. In most cases, it's not malicious behavior or "gaming the system" - it's just a response to finding a topic they can help with, or think they can.

I'm explained to the user, and we'll keep an eye on him to make sure he stops. If he doesn't within a reasonable time, he's fair game - but for now it could be a genuine mistake so lets give him teh benefit of the doubt, eh?
