This should probably be reported as a bug - articles shouldn't be able to run user-supplied Javascript.

IMHO: This should be more reported by a direct mail to the staff and delete all references to existing reports at that time. At present it gives a good start point for other who try to misuse this.
It does not solve my Problem, but it answers my question

AFAIK, new users can't view deleted articles, so it's only really a problem if an established member goes rogue.

Even when I'm not signed on (so I think also not registrated users can do that) and I click on this test link I will see the message and can switch to "show source" and see how it works...
It does not solve my Problem, but it answers my question

That's odd - I thought you had to be logged in with sufficient reputation to see deleted articles. Maybe it's another bug.
