I am currently in contract with a few agencies, and I am also using some services for monetization purposes. I surely do read each and every clause carefully, and take a copy of those terms that I have signed. For example, recently Microsoft updated their agreement and terms for Developer Accounts (Windows Store), and well I read both the content, the simple English one and the legal one and have taken a copy of the update. Better safe than sorry. In other usual cases, I do not try to spend time to go through all these terms and legal stuff, as I can leave the application as soon as I can, most of my data (profile information) is available on the Internet nonetheless. This includes a money-back-request to Steam or other platforms. Works always. NOTHING is so important, that I "have to accept" it. There's always an alternative. If I don't like what I read, I refuse. Years ago, during the Facebook hype, I have been on the registration page as friends tried to force me to using it. Read it. Declined. No Facebook for me. And what happened? NOTHING. I am still alive Same for Twitter. I don't use it. No matter, how "popular" a service is. I'd even go that far, that companies like Facebook or Twitter couldn't exist, if more people like me would READ what they write there, what they do. Well, that might be false, because there ARE millions of people that just don't care. I did a degree in Law before I saw the light (after meeting several lawyers) and switched full-time to science (mostly computers), so I can read legalese quite fast - this helps a lot. - I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.
