There seems to be four pages of messages but for some reason I don't see any messages if I navigate to pages 2,3, or 4. They just come up empty...

I know... it is the same for me.
I think the pages are residual data of the old list... while the list is showing all existent messages (there are more than 25, what usually is a standar result page)

He'll regret this once he starts getting homework assignments, and he can't post them in QA because his IP address has been blocked. 
Even better: if the school's entire IP range is blocked, and none of his classmates can post their homework to QA, and they find out who's responsible.
