Give me a 5GB crash dump file and I will be able to identify the bit with the incorrect value. Well, most of the time. And it can take several days. Love it.

Being able to think structural, organized, hierarchical helps me a lot in my second profession. I am a trainer/teacher often booked by schools to teach kids in 2-hours-sessions some of the basics of being a developer.
It's high school, the kids are normally 16+ years old, have basic programming knowledge (what they learn at school and at home when trying to make their first steps in the digital world), but schools often don't have the time (and skill?) to teach, what it means, to do that as your primary job, your main source of income.
Everybody can make a few bucks (or some thousand) by having an idea and publishing an app in the store that just shows some ads here and there. Some can make a living from that, no doubt. But the classical job, in the office, having tasks and projects... all the things around the daily developer work, this is, where I jump in.
Starting with the job interviews, through (theoretical) "day 1" in the job up to the routine tasks, that await you - that's what I tell the kids and normally they all have that "thank you, I feel better now" face at the end of the session. I try to paint them a picture, what the job means, what responsibility is often behind that, what you write.
