A heart monitor embedded in your shirt provides real-time data is farmed by Google en route to a "cardiologist" in a call centre in Mumbai, who can then send auto-generated prescriptions to Amazon who will provide the nearest available substitute item.
They then send an alert to the smartwatch that you're somewhat laughably still wearing in the future, while you are sitting in a traffic jam to say that your medications are ready to pick up.
Then your GPS can automatically update itself to route you to the Amazon pick-up point.
After a major incident involving some roadworks that your GPS was unaware of and a lengthy trip to the local hospital, you eventually arrive in your self-driving car (in which you have already spent three hours clearing up after the previous occupant) and attempt to pay for the prescription using your smartphone, only to find that the promised 8G signal is yet not available in your area and that the legacy 6G and 7G services have been axed to make way for it and have resort to real money which is only available at a bank fifteen miles back in the direction that you have just come from.
On arriving home, late and tired, you discover that hackers have been monitoring your security system and have been fully aware of your 15 hour absence from home. Your house has been burgled and there is something on the carpet that did not emanate from your dog. To make things worse, your IoT enabled cooker has cremated your dinner and everywhere on JustEat has just stopped serving.
Finally, you take your new heart meds and realise that they are somewhat inappropriate for your previously mild angina. Clutching your chest as your head starts spinning, you find yourself pining for the days when you could simply have picked up the correct prescription from your doctor's surgery and taken it to the pharmacy next door.

What if computers could program themselves? Instead of the laborious job of working out how a computer could solve a problem and then writing precise coded instructions, all you would have to do is tell it what you want and the computer would generate an algorithm that solves your problem. They need an intelligent designer?

I once built an A
I system based on fuzzy reasoning. It worked very well for theproblem I was tavckling.
Thr result of satisfying a fuzzy rule was to execute some command. I worked out a method for the command to result in modifying the fuzzy rules, thus creating a sysatemm thatt optimized itself. Unfortunately that's when funding for the project was cut.
Msybe someday that will be my hobby.

Well, about 23 years ago, I created an expert system based on fuzzy logic.
I
t was basically PROLOG using fuzzy logic rather than boolean logic. The result of matching a fuzzy rule was to execute a command. I designed a modification where the command could modify the fuzzy rules. That would have created a self modifying system. Unfortunately, at that point the funding for the project was cut, so I stopped work on it.
MKaybe someday, that will be a nice hobby. I was thinking of sapplications in robotics , etc.

As someone who worked at Microsoft for seventeen years, it is incredible to see Windows demoted to a product without a seat at the highest table. Well, it's not like anyone uses it, do they?

My first reaction was "and why should I believe a 17 year old?"

It says 17 year veteran, so if he worked at Microisift for 17 years, he's likely in his 30's if he went to college first or at least graduated fron hbigh school at age 18. If he went straight from high school to work at Microcruft, that would be impressive but after 17 years hewould be at least 35.

The company says that new and anonymous users won’t be able to create links through the goo.gl console as of April 13th, but existing users will be able to use it for another year, after which it will be discontinued completely. "And another one gone and another one gone. Another one bites the dust."
I know: Google shutting down a service hardly seems like news.
