When some idiot's 'smart' device goes off when it should have been silenced or turned off, I usually use the voice command
"shut that ![Elephant | [mastadon]](https://codeproject.global.ssl.fastly.net/script/Forums/Images/elephant.gif) ing thing off"

...it recognises my voice 99.9% of the time - even with my British accent. I do enunciate clearly and turn the radio down in the car as necessary but otherwise I am amazed at how well it does.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S8+ that comes with an assistant called "Bixby" but I use Google Assistant instead nearly all the time and it works great!
I only use Bixby when I want to control the phone's more obscure settings but for things like, "Decrease the screen brightness" or "Call [wife] at home", Google Assistant works great. The only failure is that once the phone is ringing I can't use voice commands such as "turn on speaker" - I have to press the little button for that - which takes away from the complete hands-free experience!

I use voice commands to make calls all the time with my trusty Nokia N95.
We're philosophical about power outages here. A.C. come, A.C. go.

I'll say "Call <significant other="">" - Nothing happens.......
Then I start railing expletives at Siri for her insubordinate only to have them listed on the phone. like "See what he said to me"
Other times it works.
I keep forgetting to try text dictation. I'll try harder today.

Here is what I want to be my first vocal instruction:
Ok Google, tell Xbox to ask siri to tell Bixby to order Alexa to request rumba to clean the room.

especially in the car "ok google, call the house dragon" ... erm... i mean "ok google, call my wife" 
My most common use cases are:
* set a reminder or alarm
* call someone
* "ok google, note to self" --- in german "notiz an mich" - works fine with google keep
* in austria we can book park tickets for the car via sms - so "ok google, sms to ... text 30" is a very common pattern i use to get a 30/60/90 minute parking ticket
* sometimes when I have no pc, before i start typing in a chat like whatsapp, i simply dictate my message. I am not too deep into the use of emojis, so thats fine, to just send the text. way faster than typing
when i think about it... except in the office where other ppl would here what I chat, i think i use my mobile way more than 75% per voice.

In Italian it flunks all the accents and diphthongs. Add the extreme noise sensitivity and my personal preference for silent operation and reliability (I do not want to give a command twice... non complying objects tend to achieve a good flying speed and a sudden halt on a hard surface if they require me to repeat commands too many times) means that I used it twice to try it and then quickly forgot about the functionality.
Also, it has a 4th grader vocabulary (the autocorrector is also equally guilty of that) while I always had a wide lexicon.
