Actually, I was trying to call attention to the act of name calling. Your post seems to be another slam for no particular reason. Dis it make you feel better? FYI: pindo is defined in the Urban Dictionary.

Then you don't know how to do it ... especially when you later write "I'll elect to not be offended" in response to "Both can be taken as offensive, or not" -- if it's not taken offensively, then it's not name calling, any more than "Yank" is name calling. And you completely missed the point of the post using the word "Pindos"; it was a response to a slam against "Ruskies", so it called attention to name calling, and your take on this just looks hypocritical.

Kaspersky sells direct at what it considers a reasonable price. They have no control over the degree to which Amazon is prepared to cut its own throat on loss leaders and offers. Incidentally the UK price for the same product from Amazon is the equivalent of $36.00. We often have the privilege of subsidising US offers. You can thank us any time!

Remember, that Kaspersky is a Russian company, and they/their owner have proven ties to FSB (Russian ex-KGB; I am too lazy to google it, but there was a story about it a few months ago).
So, go ahead with Kaspersky, if you don't mind leaking your data to Kremlin (and potentially being a bot if full scale was starts).
Otherwise, I would recommend e.g. Bitdefender (switched to it about 5 years ago, from Kaspersky, and all is really great!). The pricing is funny as well (ALL antivirus companies do it like that), so do your homework - 5 minutes googling will save you a hundred bucks easily, if you need it for e.g. five devices at home.

You end up leaking your information to someone, be it NSA, FSB or UK Intelligence.. so doesn't matter what you buy some government somewhere knows what your googling for

I must disagree here. All those services collect data (legally or not), but they have different motivation and morale (if this word is applicable to such services). Also, I doubt, that NSA, CIA, MI5 or any other services in the world is responsible for murdering millions upon millions of people (own people, on top of that!), like FSB (which is ex-KGB) is! Sorry, but you are childishly comparing carrots to dicks here.
So, no, it matters to whom the data leaks, and trust me, FSB is the last one I want my data leaking to.

Unless they have fixed it, there is a slight compatibility issue with Win10 and the start menu. I have it on a new laptop. Anytime I need to make changes to the start menu I have to turn off Kaspersky AV.

There is also a silly issue with iTunes (under W10), which causes 50% cpu load after iTunes is shut down. However, whilst this has been blamed on Kaspersky, I have not confirmed it.
