Hello !
I'm using VB.net 2013.
Also I'm using a Spreadsheet control form a third party tools.
I have a problem :
I copy data from an excel document , and Paste to spreadsheet control.
But before paste , I want to analyze the data being pasted.
The analyze that I want to make is :
If the data have been copied from Excel , I want to know how many cells contains each row.
If this number is greater than a specific number (x) , I want to paste only the first x cells and ignoring the others.

Good noon friends! Recently, i posted on how to make two images appear far away. Now, i used the earlier method i was using before. I have painted the form with ground and cloud picture which now has the look of cloud and ground but finding it difficult to paint the walls to form a complete 3d look. How to paint the walls please? Language am using is vb6

You "could" write it in VB.NET and integrate it into you legacy VB6-code. You can fake some 3d-ness depending on how you draw.
..but if it "must" be VB6, then I'm simply sorry

Good morning friends!
I am working on animation and painted a form with some textures to have 3d style and is working fine. Then i tried to place two walking boys animation. This is the logic i want to use: the two boys will walk towards each other and the one the at the rear will appear far away and the one at the base will appear near to viewers. How can I achieve this? Please... I know i need some math and physics calculation but i tried but couldn't do it.

This is just about scaling the images to be small for far away, and large for near. Simple division and multiplication should do it.

Yep, i tried something of this nature but couldn't meet the requirement.

then on form load, i added this

on timer tick, i added this

Part of your problem is that you are using absolute values in your calculations, rather than scale values based on percentage differences between the images, and maybe even the background. The issue is really a mathematical problem rather than a programming one.
Also please use <pre> tags round your code so it looks readable like:

Ok thanks. Then, what is the best idea? And please, i just downloaded something of that nature but unable to get the flow of the codes because there are no comments to understand the flow.
The poster declared

I would say it is very unlikely, most of us moved on from VB more than YEARS ago and will no longer have expertise in a dead language.
You should not be putting your effort into a VB6 development but looking at rewriting the application using Visual Studio Express[^] which is FREE and includes VB.Net.

Hi.. Am Trying disable taskmanager through button click in vb.net but it gives me error .
registry access is not allowed.
But i have logged in as ADMIN only..

If you're getting "Access Denied", you're not running the code as an Administrator.
Since you're putting the value under CurrentUser, this will only disable Task Manager for the user running the code and not disable it for everyone who uses the machine.

I would like to learn visual basic - so I bought a book but I don't even know what software to buy to program with. I want to learn how to program for CAD applications but I would like to play and have fun with VB as well. I don't want to spend a bunch of money if I don't have to however if I have to then I will be happy to do so. My problem is that I am brand new and don't know the best way to get started.
I just bought the book: Beginning Visual Basic 2012 by Bryan Newsome.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
