Then I think you need to reconsider the auto-report-the-member functionality when reporting a forum post as spam.
I like the functionality, but I feel there is a potential for a Protector inadvertently killing a legitimate member in the one-shot case.

It still works like that for spam reports. Perhaps it was only disabled for abuse reports.

Should be able to trap and Q&A volume that is extraordinary, IE more than # responses per time period suspends the account for a period of time and alerts the protector. I presume there are only 2 channels to choke on, answer and question posting.
You could set the variables as parameters and allow the protectors to vary them.

I don't think comments would be so critical, while read that don't show up as an answer and the OP may still get a solution if there are no registered answers.
It is never as simple in reality as it is from the outside!

He (it)'s been updating questions in the Quick Answers section, so I just wanted to know whether CodeProject owns it or not.
Looking at his (its) speed of answering the question with almost good logic is a good news for CodeProject if its a CodeProject's bot.

I clicked on a few links in QA questions from whatever/whoever 'Codeproject Bot' is: one of them was a link back to the QA question itself.
This is clearly some form of abuse of CodeProject. But, why would someone take the time to do this, or to write some program that automated this kind of nonsense ?
That it's easy to bloat one's reputation-score on QA by rapid look-up on Google, and pasting in links into a "solution," without any real effort to understand the question, and whether or not the links found are really relevant to the question asked ... that's already obvious to most people.

283 and 1% might be helpfull, 99% are spam posts. Some link upto MSDN, some to Support.Microsoft etc.
Its really annoying.

It is because it does not make "sense" that I am interested in what the motivation of the creator of this nuisance might be:
1. because they are a troll, and this is what troll's do ? just a form of vandalism ?
2. because they get-off showing how they can hack into systems, or do end-runs around web-site control ? showing-off ?
3. is this someone taking some form of "revenge" on CodeProject for some personal reason ?
4. is this someone practicing for joining the cyber-wing of some liberation-army or fanatic group ?
... or ... ?

I wrote this article several years ago to publish my library, and the library has became widely used.
Currently, I need some funds to continue developing it. So I decided to solicit donations for the project. I got started a Pledgie campaign to collect donations.
So CodeProject allows me to announce it in my article?

Imagine every single article that you read asking you for donations.
It goes against the spirit of why I started CodeProject: to give away freely with no expectation other than people might find it useful, and in return they may contribute something I would find useful.

I can only assume that the message itself has a divert of some form in it?

Seems like he posted an item in the "News" category, and News items automatically redirect to the website they link to, which happened here.
The quick red ProgramFOX jumps right over the Lazy<Dog>.

When we had news items that linked to other sites we used to frame those news items and offer a discussion board underneath. We decided a while ago that framing other sites is bad Karma and instead we send the viewer straight to the site.
When you try and view a message posted to a news item (ie during the framing era) you won't be able to see that message because you'll be immediately flung to the news item itself.
Nothing malicious, just a side effect of a change in policy.
