Would you please make reply button on comment somewhat brighter?
I have seen too many comments which is getting no response because OP and some of the members are posting comment directly without using that button,hence no notification to intended recipient.

the sample Console application given in the API Documentation doesn't work? It was returning a 504: "Unknown Host" response with the baseUri http://testapi.codeproject.com/. So I tried changing it to http://api.codeproject.com/. And now it's giving a 404 response with the following trace:

Yeah, I had my Test version instead of the Production version in the sample. I've fixed it as well as preventing the dump of errors to non-local clients.
Also, the request MUST be made using HTTPS or they will 404.
I'll talk to Chris about setting up a forum.

Has there been any consideration given to removing the rel=nofollow from a users biography on articles as a reward for giving to the community? This is even alluded to as strategy by Google at Use rel="nofollow" for specific links[^].
Quote: If you want to recognize and reward trustworthy contributors, you could decide to automatically or manually remove the nofollow attribute on links posted by members or users who have consistently made high-quality contributions over time.
I would expect this would be limited to certain conditions to prevent spamming, a couple of obvious ones to me would be:
- Specific articles where views >=50k and rating >=4
- All articles for a user where the user has a certain reputation say gold or platinum
My personal preference if this were to go ahead would be specific articles over a certain threshold this ensures that the reward is given to articles that haven proven to be useful to the community at large.

imho it's a valid QA question with quite a bit more detail, and quality, than most of the QA questions. The fact that SAK himselves edited the question suggests to me it has some value as a question, given his propensity to apply "the kiss of death" in QA liberally 
So happens, I have a useful piece of code I developed a long time ago that I'd be happy to share with the OP.
Does a mere mortal, like myself, have the power to re-open the question ?

I have an application that needs to scan folders and if the folder is empty it should return the name of the folder.This how my folders are been structure
1. You have the Main Folder "Folder 1"
2. Inside the Main Folder "Folder 1" they is a Sub Folder - "Folder 2"
3. Inside Sub Folder "Folder 2" they is "Multiple Sub Folder" namely
a. "Folder 001"
b. "Folder 002"
c. "Folder 003"
4. inside each "Multiple Sub Folder" they are other Folders with the same name e.g
i. "Sub-Sub Folder 1"
ii. "Sub-Sub Folder 2"
iii. Sub-Sub Folder 3"
In the system i need to just select the Sub Folder - "Folder 2" and the system needs to scan "Multiple Sub Folders" and "Sub-Sub Folder 2" and if the "Sub-Sub Folder 2" is empty the it should return the name of the "Multiple Sub Folder" e.g "Folder 001","Folder 002"

I have to agree with the closing of that question since it's not a question: it's a description of a task and not a specific question regarding an issue someone is "stuck" on. If the person had said "where can I get some help designing this" or "Is this approach sensible?" or best of all "I've got to [insert point] but this bit of code [insert snippet] doesn't work and so I'm unable to get to the next step. Help"

imho the title of the OP's post: "How to search a directory, folder and sub folder and return folder name" is the question.
If the question had not been snuffed so quickly, I would have asked the OP what code he had tried, and might have edited the question myself.

I have to agree with Bill here - there do seem to be a couple of over-zealous "this isn't a question" voters these days.
I'd say that's a genuine question, that he wants help with, and while not perfect the subject gives enough to at least start discussions to find out exactly what help the OP needs. But with his question closed, nobody can do that.
And as you say: "Let's work to help developers, not make them feel stupid." And having your question removed before it's answered isn't helping them.
Yes, we get "do my homework", yes we get a code dump without any clues (but even then, the sensible thing is to ask what the problem is), and yes there are questions which aren't. But some people don't seem to look at anything past the body and if they can't answer it immediately it's "Not a question" and it closes. Even if there is a discussion going on in the comments to establish what the problem is.
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

I am not sure about the approved ones, but when i commented one of the Article in moderation, i got 10 points stated Post a Programming Forum Answer. It should not be because
- I did not answer anything
- It can be used for rep farming e.g. Nice work, Useful, Thanks for sharing like comments.
Just a thought.

Its not available any more so i can't show you that post, but i am almost sure it was not a question. Even if that is the case then it needs to be changed i think.

Do you have a link? If someone posts a question on an article and you reply then the reply is, by default, set as an "answer". Since the post is on an article (and not a general discussion forum) it's considered a programming forum. Hence you get the points for posting an answer on a programming forum.

I noticed that the same happens in the Article Writing forum; if your answer gets upvoted there, you get 10 points with the message "Post a Programming Forum Answer", while the Article Writing forum is not a Programming Forum.
The quick red ProgramFOX jumps right over the Lazy<Dog>.

I am observing in CP in recent days, some people are complaining about "Down Voting". Some people are suggesting, remove the down vote button from QA section as like discussion forums.
My suggestion is, the down vote button should only visible, when user hit the "Up Vote" button. Means user can only down vote such item(s) which he/she has up voted. If user does not like the Answer/Post, he can just undo his "Up Vote". The points of down vote should be deducted the same added point after Up Voting.
Sometimes, I like the code snippet/link and up voted the answer, but when I visit the actual link or after trying the code, I found, it is not working as exptecd, then I can undo my "up vote". This can be useful for other developers.
