Hi all,
I was just wondering;
From explorer you can right click on a file and select the print option.
This will print the document (Word, Excel, Visio etc).
How can I call this print option ?
Why you may ask?
Well this option will print any document that has an associated applicaion with it.
And it handles the document extension.
That is, you don't need to code for the specific file type.
Any thoughts ?

I am a new programmer in visual basic 2010. I was trying to upload picture to a website such as www.tineye.com. I have placed a button in the form and my goal is when i click on the button, the picture which i saved in my desktop automatically gets uploaded in the website. So, i was trying to use the uploadfile() function. So, please can anyone help me how i can use the uploadfile() function. The file i am trying to upload is a Jpg file.

Hi.
I need a WYSIWYG control with buttons (bold italic ...) that can print on a place on the paper where I want (XY coordinates). I didn't find anything that print. So I create the control myself, but I can't find how to print my text where I want. There are some examples that do print, but it's always on top of the paper and no way of adding something else.

As you can see I want the option to hide some or all buttons.
The idea is that I can add text to an already existing application on the page and also with converting to html for webpages. That text will be on the bottom or on the top of the page

The X and Y co-ordinates are used to position the text on the page. You need to calculate them according to where you want your text to start. You then adjust them as you print moving across or down the page as necessary using the font size to calculate position. There are sample articles on printing in the CodeProject Articles section[^].

I find finally some useful print info. So printing works at the desired start punt Y. But where does it end?
My X-start is always 0 that's o problem. but the Y where does it stops?
I will calculate if needed but how?

I know. I can now print multiple pages. I can start on the page on every Y coordinate. I need now to know where it ends. So that my program can continue with the other info that must be on the same group of pages.
Now I have about 15 different print jobs that continues printing takes a new page if there is not enough room to fit on that page. but al that info is just printed. e.graphics.drawstring and images. Now I have rtf but I don't have the ending Y.

I knew how to calculate Y on normal printing.
I fond out with your links how to print rtf.
However calculate Y with rtf I have not found. English is not my language. It myth be the reason but I can't find it.

It is exactly the same. Every time you ptint a line you need to use the font details of the text on that line to calculate the Y-increment. If you are using multiple fonts on a line then you would use the font with the largest character height.
