Smart cars can turn off passenger airbags based on weight. Elevators can do the same if programmed to.

Of all the static technology that could've been turned "smart," elevators would not have been in my top 500 devices. Good to see Microsoft Research is putting in quality work over there in Redmond.

If an elevator doesn't know what floor you're going, then nobody does. This is already reality today; the only thing an AI can do now is to make it worse.
Why not have the elevator control integrated on your calendar where you put in your appointments and then you can check in your device when you get in the building and it would automatically call an elevator and then it would announce your name if you reach the correct floor. You can make that happen without scary psychic AI things.

Well, considering that the population of India is 1.3 billion, yeah, I can see that it's a sampling of "devs".

For the first time "password" has been knocked off the number one slot of the list of worst passwords. This doesn’t mean people are getting more security minded, however, as it's been replaced by the equally obvious "123456". Special hint: 123457 is really secure!
