What makes for an exceptional programmer is flexibility rather than rigid adherence to detail and formalisms.

Sometimes I like to examine the options in detail, then choose and stick precisely to a detailed procedure most applicable to the project at hand. Does that make me flexible or pedantic?

What if I'm a bit illiterate because I only watch Sci-Fi movies, Lord of the Rings, and the Hobbit, and don't know the meaning of the word "pedantic"?

I am definitely a perfectionist when it comes to everything I do. I notice the slightest of flaws in everything related to daily activities. And I'll do what I can to correct them. Doesn't help that I have OCD to an extent.

With children have gotten worse from when I was younger.
My poor kids... haha 
I tell them sometimes that before they mutter a word I can tell when they are about to tell me a fib about something based on their body motions and expressions. The bonus is that I also tend to analyze what users say as well.

...but there's a special place in hell for comma cops.
I once had to sit through a code review that largely consisted of looking at compares of minor grammar corrections and misspellings in the comments.
It was broke, so I fixed it.

Judging yourself on how you relate to others is usually not a good judgment.
Although my position towards others is usually the one I like to have back.
This means that when I don't know something I like others to explain it to me without slamming "ignorant" in my face.
The other way around is always true for me. I'm always available to help or explain whatever.
The only thing I really don't like is explaining the very same thing to the same person more than once.
I can take whatever time is needed to answer all the questions, but just try not to ask me to explain the whole damn thing again next time ok?!
