this question has been asked so many time and i have gone through almost all of those answers, but i still get the page not found error when i try to browse my published website...
this is what i have done
i have created a new website in VS 2010 then published and using ISS 5.1 i have created a virtual Directory for it, even after all this my pages have not been able to work...
am i missing something basic here, pls help me out...

It is a very regular stuff you just need to fire select query to the database table liek
Select * from [TableName] where [UserIdCol]=[UserId] and [PasswordCol]=[Password]
and get the output in the dataset or datatable
if you find any row in the dataset or datatable then allow the user to login and also you have the detail in the row as well

Hi All,
I am using below method to find the text in the word document and replace.
word.Selection.Find.Execute(ref findText,
ref matchCase, ref matchWholeWord,
ref matchWildCards, ref matchSoundsLike,
ref nmatchAllWordForms, ref forward,
ref wrap, ref format, ref replaceWithtext,
ref replace, ref matchkasdia,
ref matchDiacrities, ref matchAlefHamza,
ref matchcontrol);
However we had a new requirement like searching the text which starts with # and end with #
eg: #name# -- it will be in the word document
In c# we need to get the value "name"
How to achieve this.Please Advice.

I have an asp.net webform which has a div element named 'contents', and a textbox on it. The div is loaded with some html, which I've retrieved into a string in the codebehind file. Inside this html, I need to be able to mark up various bits of text so that when a user clicks them, it sends a message back to the server, which then populates the text box (which is on the same form) with some other data.
The problem I'm having is how best to communicat back to the server- so in the code below,
1) What should the line alert("You clicked " + x); be, so that it uses ajax to call back to the server, sending the parameter 'hello'
2) What method would be invoked on the server? Would it be Page_Load again?
3) After having called the server, what code would I need to popluate the text box without sending back the whole page again (i.e. still using ajax)? The problem is not retrieving the text on the server, let's just say I receive 'hello' as a parameter on the server, and want to send back 'goodbye' to the text box, again using ajax
So my source aspx file has this in it...

and in my codebehind file in form_load, I have..

When the user clicks 'hello', I want TextBox1 to say 'goodbye'. Again, it's the server that has to handle things here, without reposting the webpage though..

Say for instance I'm having a table with columns:
Name
Sex
Age
Location
I need to bind this data to a gridview with Templatefield with dropdownlist as ItemTemplate for columns such as Name and Sex and with textbox as ItemTemplate, so that I would be capable of editing the records in the gridview.
Please help me with a sample source code.

We have created a new Webservice , in this service we are using exterenal webservice in this webservice wsdl namespce tage () is empty and getting this error : "Schema item 'import' from namespace ''. The namespace attribute cannot have empty string as its value.could you please assit me

Try regenerating the proxy (from the webservice again).
If you use the svcutil command, you can use the /namespace setting to define your own namespace.

I am not using any tool to create proxy. I am expecting the proxy to get autogenerated when i do webreference from our project.
what namespace i have to mention in this tag "<xs:import namespace="">" currently which is present as empty in the WSDL we go from external service. For this whether I ave to work anything from our side or I ave to ask the external service guys only to solve this.
Error 1 Unable to import binding '*****' from namespace '******'. App_WebReferences/****/
Error 2 Schema item 'import' from namespace '****'. The namespace attribute cannot have empty string as its value. App_WebReferences/*****/
i am getting above two errors.
Please assist me...

SALAM all. im doing a RESTful web service with ASP.net, and i have a problem when invoking few of web service that i've created. here is the architechture of my solution: BLL ==> i put in it my functions like this:

DAL ==> I used generation item to create model.edmx Entity ==> i used POCO generation code to generate entitys from data base.
and in my service.cs classe i put on it my web services like this:

Now when i want to call my web service from my browser, an intermittent error appear. sometimes it work and displays for me the list of transaction and sometimes (most of time) it doesn't work, and displays to my an error:
Error 324 (net :: ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server terminated the connection without sending data.
I'm working with vista pack1
