I think html 5 supports drag and drop, and browsers that support html 5.
We were going to use uploadify with drag and drop, and found that only the html 5 version supported it.
You should do some research and double check your requirements

i have published a website in VS 2010 and added it in ISS 5.1 using virtual directory now when i try to run it i get an error saying...
Failed to access IIS metabase
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
Exception Details: System.Web.Hosting.HostingEnvironmentException: Failed to access IIS metabase.
i tried changing the permissions but still get the same error
can someone pls help me out on this...

In 5.1, the metabase stores the website parameters.
So you ran the setup you made, and the setup did not complete all the parameters, leaving you with a broken website.
So go back to the website installer you made and fix the code. And test it running in debug, or at least look at 5.1 IIS management, to see what your missing. Write down what your missing on a piece of paper, and make the adjustments to your installation program.
Use the process of elimination, until you narrow it down, and it works.

this question has been asked so many time and i have gone through almost all of those answers, but i still get the page not found error when i try to browse my published website...
this is what i have done
i have created a new website in VS 2010 then published and using ISS 5.1 i have created a virtual Directory for it, even after all this my pages have not been able to work...
am i missing something basic here, pls help me out...

It is a very regular stuff you just need to fire select query to the database table liek
Select * from [TableName] where [UserIdCol]=[UserId] and [PasswordCol]=[Password]
and get the output in the dataset or datatable
if you find any row in the dataset or datatable then allow the user to login and also you have the detail in the row as well

Hi All,
I am using below method to find the text in the word document and replace.
word.Selection.Find.Execute(ref findText,
ref matchCase, ref matchWholeWord,
ref matchWildCards, ref matchSoundsLike,
ref nmatchAllWordForms, ref forward,
ref wrap, ref format, ref replaceWithtext,
ref replace, ref matchkasdia,
ref matchDiacrities, ref matchAlefHamza,
ref matchcontrol);
However we had a new requirement like searching the text which starts with # and end with #
eg: #name# -- it will be in the word document
In c# we need to get the value "name"
How to achieve this.Please Advice.

I have an asp.net webform which has a div element named 'contents', and a textbox on it. The div is loaded with some html, which I've retrieved into a string in the codebehind file. Inside this html, I need to be able to mark up various bits of text so that when a user clicks them, it sends a message back to the server, which then populates the text box (which is on the same form) with some other data.
The problem I'm having is how best to communicat back to the server- so in the code below,
1) What should the line alert("You clicked " + x); be, so that it uses ajax to call back to the server, sending the parameter 'hello'
2) What method would be invoked on the server? Would it be Page_Load again?
3) After having called the server, what code would I need to popluate the text box without sending back the whole page again (i.e. still using ajax)? The problem is not retrieving the text on the server, let's just say I receive 'hello' as a parameter on the server, and want to send back 'goodbye' to the text box, again using ajax
So my source aspx file has this in it...

Say for instance I'm having a table with columns:
Name
Sex
Age
Location
I need to bind this data to a gridview with Templatefield with dropdownlist as ItemTemplate for columns such as Name and Sex and with textbox as ItemTemplate, so that I would be capable of editing the records in the gridview.
Please help me with a sample source code.
