There is a deployment strategycalled ClickOnce Deployment that would allow you (or the application automatically) to check for updates.

Apart from this, you could always write your own code to do this. Have a simple web service which returns the version deployed on the server. if it is a newer version, just ask the user to update or update the program automatically, depending upon the choice of the user.
