I do have a small, small suspicion which might help? I do not know if this was the case but it is not impossible. Read on:

Is there an "auto save" every x-time units? Even without user interaction? What if you edit in one browser on one computer, then continue to edit on another computer, while still having the "edit" mode on the first? Will the first, old, edit auto-save and overwrite the newer edition?
