Here is why I would suggest to remove this check box from all Questions and Answer post forms:

After many months of reading of many posts and posting in this forum, I did not see a single case when this checking of this check box could be useful.

At the same time, nearly every day there are few misuses of this check box, when members check it and use some HTML formatting which is supposed to be rendered, not quoted, and the option screws up that formatting. I don't really know why those member misused of that option, but this is what I observe. Usually, experts help to fix this by unchecking this check box, most comment that it should not be checked.

As I don't see any use of this option in real practice, I would simply suggest to remove it. After all, not having this option does not prevent any reasonable formatting (in particular, using pre or code tags), and having it is not used properly anyway.

I would support the opinion of Luc Pattyn who thinks (please see his comment below) that this feature should be removed from forums as well.
