Update:
The pattern double-quote, backslash, backslash, double-quote was causing it. (I'm writing it out because I don't know if it will do something similar here.)
I changed it to:
@"\"
which is the equivalent in C# and the problem went away.

What is use of "Star" symbol in question ?
I guess it is for bookmarking the question. If yes then Where to find my bookmark.
I tried to find in "My Bookmark" option from my account but it says
"There are no bookmarks for this item type."

I posted my first article today using the article submission wizard. Unfortunately, I got a fatal error when I pressed the "submit" button. I got a cute screen that said, "Something bad happened ... ." There was a reference to "invalid view state". I can't get back to my article. I hope that you haven't lost it. I'd like to see it online and have a chance to make any edits that I missed while composing.
I appreciate any help I can get.

I can see an article that's been started but it has no content. An invalid viewstate error is caused when you load a page, that page is changed on the server, then you submit the page. What the server expects and what you send it are different. However, this only happens during site updates and we've not updated for a couple of days. It can also be caused if you have add-ins in your browser that somehow modify the HTML of the page.
Unfortunately you're going to have to resubmit.
We are in the process of beta testing a new submission system that regularly auto-saves, for just these types of issues.

I wrote the article off line, but I did all of the editing on line. Since it was my first time creating a significant document in HTML, I spent about 6 hours doing the editing. I'll see if I can recreate the formatting in Visual Studio so that I can resubmit the article. I tried using an off-line editor from the CodeProject site, but it is quite old and wouldn't allow me to open an existing HTML file.

By the way, the partial article was not visible at the time of my original posting, but I can see it now.

Ok, piece of advice from a guy who's written lots of articles. NEVER do this. Always, always use an offline editor (anything from Notepad to Blend to Frontpage).

For the record it is always best to create your article on your local PC and then use the completed document in the submission wizard.

In the Reputation History, it shows you get two points for every downloaded file and links to the downloaded file. It would also be nice if you can link to the article, so that we can go directly to the page. Sometimes, we may download without voting or commenting and need to go back to the page.

I just checked. While it does say I get 2 points, the link goes directly to the article rather than the download (though the text in the link is the name of the downloaded file rather than the name of the article).

Me thinks it was changed quietly. Doesn't do that anymmore.

It should link to the article - both for having a download downloaded, or having someone else download your download.
If it isn't then please let me know which download is not linked correctly.

For some reason, clicking on a Related File link yesterday was bringing up the file download instead of the article. Now it seems to have gone away.
