Most of the code I have written recently is for my CS180 Java class at Purdue. We just made a 'clone' of the Atari 'Centipede' game, and one kid did a complete rewrite of it, and that is COOL!

I use 8 bit assembler for programming PIC microcontrollers. And 16 Bit code for writing low level X86 code (e.g. bootloaders for computers).

So far, no one seems to have cracked this!

I know a lot of people doing this... specially if you've been doing programming for a while now... it's the resourceful thing to do. If you already have the classes, use them.

No, you are not alone. There's a lot of legacy code in my shop, and there is little reason to rewrite it all at one time. Budgets are tight, so management is willing to go the cheap route, which means meeting spec, but doing it at the lowest possible cost.

I am working on the system which has the WPF front end and C/C++ rear. It is nice to work with both at the same time

I'm working on a project now that involves mixing C++ with Java and C# (via mono) on Android.

I'm guessing that when they refer to Native 32 bit and 64 bit, they are talking about the x86 and x64 processor architectures. So I would think that if you program for anything on this list http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_CPU_architectures[^] that isn't x86, x64, or embedded would qualify as Native (other).

Freescale(Motorola) HC08 8 bit microcontrollers.
I use Assembly and ANSI C on those bad boys. (And I mean BAD!)
It was broke, so I fixed it.

It's for VB programmers who can only count to ten.
(Or maybe microcontrollers and signal processors that come in different bit widths. But my bet is on VB programmers.)
