Would anyone here that's already setup to compile under Linux/mono be willing to try compiling an app of mine to see if it will a) compile and then b) run?
It's .Net 4, and according to the mono page, I'm not using anything that mono pukes on.

What do I do now?
If you want to test it yourself, it installs a dandy bootloader. Only thing that could go wrong is when building a path by hand and using the wrong directory-separator. No problem if you use Path.Combine.

Well, I'm impressed. I didn't expect it to run.
Just follow the steps (indicated by the group box titles). There are a number of landscape images in the root solution folder that you can use for step 1.

Mono is reasonably compatible[^]. I haven't digged into your code, but when I load a picture and ask for a visualization, the runtime reports an exception;
Mono says System.IO.FileNotFoundException: /home/eddy/Downloads/CamoPicker/CamoPicker/bin/Debug/weapons/CPAR15NoOptics_overlay.png
Which looks like a decent unix-path. I'll be looking into it tomorrow.
You can download Suse and put it and a VM for playing, but there's also the option to put it next to Windows - a dandy bootloader is included. The IDE[^] doesn't have a WinForms designer, but your projects run the same.

We've pieced together a tool @ sql2code.com that converts sql statements into executable code for which ever programming language the developer is using.
What I am wondering is:
- Is there another tool out there that is similar to this?
- Is this of any value to you as a developer? Would you use it?
- Is membership "sellable"? It's awfully hard nowadays to get a developer to pay for anything.
- Is there any missing functionality that could be useful for inline querying?

HDSoft has a new control that allows you to display text buttons and image buttons on the app caption bar. This works on XP and Win 7 (I haven't tried Vista yet), under both theming and Aero.
If this is of any interest to you, please let me know; I'm now setting up a beta list, and I would value your help.

Sorry, I think I misunderstood what you were asking. Yes, it's a shareware component, and yes, testers get the full HDSoft package; that means full source code (Win32 C++, non-MFC) is included, plus projects for VS2008, VS2010, and (maybe) VS6.
The beta is distributed on the same basis as other HDSoft components - testers can compile the component into their products, but may not distribute the source code.

Hey everyone, I am starting to prepare myself to create W8 like applications, I have created a template with W8 colors and sizes according to the latests picture and videos.
Mareinsula W8 template I hope it helps as it helped me. Now I am creating and extracting all the WP7 resource dictionary and creating the states, controls and storyboards.
